Quick User Guide

The Smart Fish Tracker HUD lets you scan compatible fish and quickly view their information from Rainbow Reef — right from your Second Life screen.

🚀 QUICK START

1. Wear the HUD

Attach the Smart Fish Tracker HUD to your screen.

When prompted, allow camera permission.

2. Look at Your Fish

Point your Second Life camera directly at the fish you want to identify.

For the best results, make sure you're looking directly at the fish.

3. Click SCAN

Click the SCAN button on the HUD.

The tracker will search Rainbow Reef and display the available information for the fish.

🔎 WHAT INFORMATION DOES IT SHOW?

When a compatible fish is found, the HUD displays:

FISH NAME
The name of the scanned fish.

SPECIES
The fish's species.

EGGS (TOTAL)
The total number of eggs associated with the fish.

HATCHED (TOTAL)
The total number of hatched offspring.

STATUS
Shows the current status of the scan.

🧭 HUD BUTTONS

🔍 SCAN

Scans the fish you're currently looking at.

Point your camera directly at the fish before clicking SCAN.

🌐 PAGE

Opens the scanned fish's official Rainbow Reef page.

This button becomes useful after a fish has been successfully identified.

🛒 MARKET

Opens the Rainbow Reef Market.

🗑️ CLEAR

Clears the current scan results so you can start fresh.

📡 STATUS MESSAGES

The HUD uses simple status messages to let you know what's happening.

READY

The HUD is ready to scan.

LOADING

The HUD is retrieving information about the fish.

FOUND

A compatible fish was successfully found!

NO FISH

The HUD didn't detect a fish.

Try pointing your camera directly at the fish and scanning again.

FISH NOT FOUND

A fish was detected, but it could not be found in the Rainbow Reef database.

💡 SCANNING TIPS

For the best results:

  • Point your camera directly at the fish.

  • Make sure the fish is clearly in view.

  • Wait for the HUD to finish loading before scanning again.

  • If you receive NO FISH, reposition your camera and try again.

  • If you receive FISH NOT FOUND, the fish may not be available in the Rainbow Reef database.
