User Guide
The Sass & Fins Smart Crate makes it easy to store, organize, and quickly rez your fish or other items. Choose individual items, rez multiple items at once, or rez everything in the crate.
The built-in display can also show your Species, Breed, Sex, and current Quantity.
Getting Started
1. Touch the Smart Crate
Touch the crate to open the menu.
Only the owner and authorized admins can operate the Smart Crate.
If you aren't authorized, the crate will let you know that you don't have access.
2. Choose What You Want to Do
The main menu gives you quick access to the crate's rezzing options.
Choose Item
Browse the crate's contents and select a specific item.
Rez All
Rez the entire contents of the crate.
Rez 2 / Rez 4 / Rez 8 / Rez 16
Quickly rez a specific number of items.
Settings
Owner-only controls for customizing the crate.
Close
Closes the menu.
Choosing an Item
Select Choose Item to browse everything stored inside the crate.
The crate displays up to 8 items per page.
If there are more than 8 items, use:
Items >>
Go to the next page.
<< Items
Return to the previous page.
Select the numbered button next to the item you want to rez.
Quick Rez Options
Need to unpack several items quickly?
Use the quick-rez buttons:
Rez 2 — Rez 2 items
Rez 4 — Rez 4 items
Rez 8 — Rez 8 items
Rez 16 — Rez 16 items
For everything at once, select Rez All.
Smart Display
The Smart Crate includes a built-in information display with four sections.
SPECIES
Displays the species name in uppercase text.
BREED
Displays the breed name in uppercase text.
SEX
Displays a simple symbol:
♀ Female
♂ Male
Female is displayed in pink and Male is displayed in blue.
QUANTITY
Shows the number of rezzable objects currently stored inside the crate.
Quantity is automatic — you never need to enter it manually.
The quantity updates as items are added or removed.
Owner Settings
The Settings menu is available to the crate owner only.
From here you can customize:
Admins
Choose who is allowed to operate the crate.
Fish Info
Set the Species, Breed, and Sex displayed on the crate.
Rez Distance
Control how far away objects are rezzed.
Spacing
Control the distance between multiple rezzed objects.
Reset Defaults
Restore the original settings.
Fish Information
Go to:
Settings → Fish Info
From here you can edit the information shown on the Smart Crate.
Species
Select Species and enter the species name.
Examples:
Koi • Betta • Goldfish • Angelfish
The display automatically converts your text to uppercase and centers it.
Maximum length: 250 characters
Type CLEAR to remove the species information.
Breed
Select Breed and enter the breed name.
Examples:
Butterfly • Halfmoon • Oranda • Ryukin
The display automatically converts your text to uppercase and centers it.
Maximum length: 250 characters
Type CLEAR to remove the breed information.
Sex
Select Sex and choose:
Female
Displays a pink ♀ symbol.
Male
Displays a blue ♂ symbol.
Clear Sex
Removes the sex symbol.
Refreshing the Display
If the display ever needs to be refreshed, select:
Refresh Text
This refreshes all four display areas:
Species • Breed • Sex • Quantity
Clearing Fish Information
Select Clear Info to remove:
Species • Breed • Sex
The Quantity display will remain because it is automatically generated from the number of objects stored in the crate.
Rez Distance
Want your items to appear farther away from the crate?
Go to:
Settings → Rez Distance
Enter a value between:
0.5 and 20.0 meters
Default
0.50 meters
A smaller value keeps rezzed objects closer to the crate. A larger value moves them farther away.
Object Spacing
You can also control how much space is placed between multiple rezzed objects.
Go to:
Settings → Spacing
Enter a value between:
0.25 and 10.0 meters
Default
0.50 meters
Use a smaller value for a tighter arrangement or a larger value for more space between objects.
Managing Admins
The owner can give other residents permission to use the Smart Crate.
Go to:
Settings → Admins
You'll find four options:
Add Admin
Add a new authorized user.
Remove Admin
Remove an existing admin.
View Admins
View the saved admin UUIDs.
Clear Admins
Remove all saved admins.
OWNER ACCESS
The owner always has full access to the Smart Crate, even if no admins are configured.
Adding an Admin
Select:
Add Admin
You can add someone in two ways.
Nearby
Select Nearby to scan for residents within 96 meters of the crate.
Select the resident you want to add from the list.
Enter UUID
Select Enter UUID and enter the resident's avatar UUID.
Once added, that resident can operate the Smart Crate.
Removing an Admin
Select Remove Admin and enter the exact UUID of the admin you want to remove.
Not sure which UUID to use?
Select View Admins to see the currently saved admin UUIDs.
Resetting the Smart Crate
Want to start over?
Go to:
Settings → Reset Defaults
This restores the original settings:

Good to Know
Only the owner and authorized admins can use the Smart Crate.
Quantity is always automatic. You don't need to update it when adding or removing objects.
Species and Breed support up to 250 characters.
Menus automatically close after approximately 60 seconds of inactivity.
Simply touch the Smart Crate again to open the menu.
